Honolulu Magazine: Honolulu in 1888
The original Honolulu Magazine, Paradise of the Pacific, was founded by King David Kalākaua, with the first issue printed in January 1888. To commemorate the 125th anniversary, we explored the archives at Bishop Museum to uncover what life in Hawai‘i looked like at the time.
